What do computer viruses do?

Through the course of using the Internet and your computer, you may have come in to contact with computer viruses. Many computer viruses are stopped before they can start, but there is still an ever growing concern as to what do computer viruses do and the list of common computer virus symptoms. A computer virus might corrupt or delete data on your computer, use your email program to spread itself to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk.

Computer viruses are often spread by attachments in email messages or instant messaging messages. That is why it is essential that you never open email attachments unless you know who it’s from and you are expecting it.

Viruses can be disguised as attachments of funny images, greeting cards, or audio and video files.
Defining viruses, worms, and Trojan horses

According to a poll taken in Orange County New York most people in the Middletown New York area (10940) are getting infecting with a specific type of virus this computer virus is “a computer program usually hidden within another seemingly innocuous program that produces copies of itself and inserts them into other programs or files, and that usually performs a malicious action (such as destroying data)”. Computer viruses are never naturally occurring; they are always man-made. Once created and released, however, their spread is not directly under human control.

Macro viruses: A macro is a piece of code that can be embedded in a data file. A macro virus is thus a virus that exists as a macro attached to a data file. In most respects, macro viruses are like all other viruses. The main difference is that they are attached to data files (i.e., documents) rather than executable programs.Document-based viruses are, and will likely continue to be, more prevalent than any other type of virus.
Worms: Worms are very similar to viruses in that they are computer programs that replicate functional copies of themselves (usually to other computer systems via network connections) and often, but not always, contain some functionality that will interfere with the normal use of a computer or a program. Unlike viruses, however, worms exist as separate entities; they do not attach themselves to other files or programs. Because of their similarity to viruses, worms also are often referred to as viruses.
Trojan horses: A Trojan horse is a program that does something undocumented which the programmer intended, but that users would not accept if they knew about it. By some definitions, a virus is a particular case of a Trojan horse, namely, one which is able to spread to other programs (i.e., it turns them into Trojans too). According to others, a virus that does not do any deliberate damage (other than merely replicating) is not a Trojan. Finally, despite the definitions, many people use the term “Trojan” to refer only to a non-replicating malicious program.

Computer Networking In Middletown NY

Computer networking is an engineering discipline that aims to study and analyze the communication process among various computing devices or computer systems that are linked, or networked, together to exchange information and share resources.

Computer networking depends on the theoretical application and practical implementation of fields like computer engineering, computer sciences, information technology and telecommunication.

 Computer Networking Explained

A router, network card and protocols are the essential pillars upon which any network is built. Computer networks are the backbone of modern-day communication. Even public switched telephone networks are controlled by computer systems; most telephonic services are also working with IP.

The increasing scope of communication has led to much advancement in the networking field and in its relative industries like hardware, software manufacturing and integration. As a result, most households have access to one or more networks. There are three broad network types:

  • Local Area Network (LAN): Used to serve a small number of people located in a small geographical space. Peer-to-peer or client server networking methods can be employed.
  • Wide Area Network (WAN): Formed to connect a computer with its peripheral resources across a large geographical area.
  • Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)/Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN): Formed without the use of wires or physical media to connect hosts with the server. The data is transferred over radio transceivers.

I'm usually very picky with even leaving a review but Michael definitely deserves 5 stars. We've used him for several issues in the past, and every time he was able to bring our family's computers back to life at a reasonable expense and acceptable time frame.

If the jobs had required more work than initially expected, Michael at no point attempted to leverage that to his financial gain. It's generally rare to come across an individual or organization that performs a service honorably and is very open about the process as well.

We will continue to use his services and would highly recommend to anyone who is having trouble with their computer. I haven't even contemplated using anyone else.

"Even if you think your computer's dead, we can most likely bring it back to life." That's exactly what happened. Michael diagnosed our dying hard disk within minutes, rescued all our important files, transferred them into our new system and, most important, tested all our programs to make sure the transferred data and the software were working properly. A real professional. Highest recommendation! Martha Gale, Finance Administrator, Middletown Humane Society animal shelter.

I called Michael to fix my LCD screen as it broke on my laptop. Michael was polite, fast and installed an additional program as it was running slow. He offered to come to my home if I was unable to go to him. His pricing was reasonable and I would recommend him to others.
